Holidays

For once I looked forward to my Winter break. In the past I had dreaded it due to the fact that I would have nothing to do. But now I’m overjoyed because I get a break from work even though I’m assigned stuff over break. I haven’t worked on any of it so far and I go back on the 3rd. And with break comes the time to be able to actually blog.

My Winter break was full. First, I worked on my eagle scout project. I made storage units for the music instruments in the band room of my shcool. Then at the request of the teacher, I fixed up stands and a small poorly built shelf that was already present.

On Christmas day my family and I traveled to my relatives. The visit there at first was a bit dull. We ate this big delicious dinner and proceeded to dessert and presents. I got $35 and a calendar that day. The next day I was able to go to the mall. It was PACKED with people. I almost wanted to leave, but I got over it. I went into American Eagle and spent a nice sum of money. That is my favorite clothing store.

That was one side of the family, now I had to wait for the other side; 4 days to be exact. Luckily my grandparents had DSL and a nice new computer I helped set up. At the other side of the familiy’s party it was really no different. We ate and proceeded to presents. I was given this book Children are Americans Too! by Bill O’Reilly. It was an interesting book. I read the whole thing that day. Not only was it easy to read but was highly interesting for me.

But alas I now have to think about school once more. I’ll get through it though. :)

Surprised

It surprises me on how many current youth seem to be not interested in our countries future. Recently, I’ve been looking at the primary candidates and looking at the major issues. Even though I can’t vote until the main selection (not the primary) I still feel like I should stand somewhere in politics.  I’ve talked to some friends about my views and choices and I ask theirs.  But, They don’t have any.  That just shows you how uninvolved they are.  I’m not sure what it is, but I wish it could change.  I wish many things could change, but that doesn’t mean they will.  Being involved in a country’s government, I believe, is important.  We live in this country(US) and since we are in a democracy we have the responsibility to make the decisions of our leaders(whether they be good or bad).

One other thing that would be nice is that people who are educated in the issues and who is for what should VOTE!  We have some people that just pick a person no matter who it is. If you don’t know your stuff don’t vote, you’ll just mess everything up.

All in all, people need to be involved and educated.
