For once I looked forward to my Winter break. In the past I had dreaded it due to the fact that I would have nothing to do. But now I’m overjoyed because I get a break from work even though I’m assigned stuff over break. I haven’t worked on any of it so far and I go back on the 3rd. And with break comes the time to be able to actually blog.
My Winter break was full. First, I worked on my eagle scout project. I made storage units for the music instruments in the band room of my shcool. Then at the request of the teacher, I fixed up stands and a small poorly built shelf that was already present.
On Christmas day my family and I traveled to my relatives. The visit there at first was a bit dull. We ate this big delicious dinner and proceeded to dessert and presents. I got $35 and a calendar that day. The next day I was able to go to the mall. It was PACKED with people. I almost wanted to leave, but I got over it. I went into American Eagle and spent a nice sum of money. That is my favorite clothing store.
That was one side of the family, now I had to wait for the other side; 4 days to be exact. Luckily my grandparents had DSL and a nice new computer I helped set up. At the other side of the familiy’s party it was really no different. We ate and proceeded to presents. I was given this book Children are Americans Too! by Bill O’Reilly. It was an interesting book. I read the whole thing that day. Not only was it easy to read but was highly interesting for me.
But alas I now have to think about school once more. I’ll get through it though.

This school year is becoming to be way to much to handle. I have four weighted classes, in which two of them are AP courses. I want to get in shape. The teachers at my school just pile on the homework. I understand I’m in a school with higher standards…but I feel like if I completely devote my life to fulfilling every single thing, I will have absolutely no social life.
Some of the homework is just worksheets. And others, I have an average of two to three essays a week. And in one class I have four tests within the next two weeks not including the semester final coming up.In my AP English class we have three books that we are reading right now. Not including the extra readings from the two text books we have (and the essays we have to write on them). It’s just simply becoming way too much. Its piling up and everything.
I try to manage my time well, but I end up stressing anyway and are pressured to get things done. I wouldn’t say I have the best time management skills and I wish I had better ones. Its just so much that I just want to throw it down and quit. I know I can’t do that though.
I am baffled by the way people can handle school, a sport and a significant other all at the same time. I wish I had those skills. These next two weeks will be tough. Then I’ll have my finals and let’s hope I live through that so I can enjoy Winter break.

A few weekends ago I visited my Grandmother. She is a widow. Part of the reason for going up there was remembering my past grandfather. She was hit pretty hard by his death in march. She had to learn some stuff she wasn’t used to, but she got through. I knew it was important for my family and I to go visit her during this time.
While there, I met up with some other relatives. Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed myself. Usually when it comes to family gatherings, I’m a loner. But I got to listening to my older relatives stories. They were all humorous and intersting. My uncle Dan enlightened me of my grandfather’s and his brother’s past. It was interesting to hear all that he had done. He was truly a good man. He was a writer and has had many things published. Maybe I’ll take up writing as a hobby someday, but definitely not as an occupation.
Overall, that weekend was very enlightening. I felt like it was worth it–like I learned something. Even though what I learned wasn’t necessary, it was intersting nonetheless. I now look foward to gatherings like that. Learning is a great reason to visit someone or going someplace. Maybe we should make everything a learning experience, even simple pleasures.

It has been sometime since I’ve posted on my blog. I stopped due to not having a connection to the internet. I eventually got my connection back, but school started up and so did my yearly stress. Its more so this year than others considering it’s my junior year. With all the work I have with in my classes this year its really hard to find time for extra stuff such as this. I’ll do my best on writing on here at least once a week.
Junior year…yeah tough, so I’ve heard, but I didn’t know it was going to be like this. The teachers pile on homework like crazy. Sometimes its easy stuff like 1 plus 2 and other times its writing three 750 word essays in one night. I’ve been doing just OK with all of this. I just need to find ways to manage my time better. If I can do that I’ll be less stressed and may even have time to work out and/or write a blog or two.
Some things have changed since this school quarter has gone by. I think my general way of thinking has changed. I feel more mature so to say. At first I didn’t feel like a junior and now I definitely do. My social status and relationships seem stable. I seem more confident in myself. Before, I was insecure and was unable to handle somethings.
This past weekend he and I had a blast hanging out with some friends. It’s supposed to happen again this weekend, but alas I will be at my relatives. Though, I’m going to be with him at his birthday family gathering the weekend after next. That’ll be fun I’m sure.
That’s all for now.
